Although the week has just started the fact that the price closed under the 20 day moving average it’s something to be looking out for. The Volume may pick up the rest of the week, but price deterioration is already on its way.

Just like the financial sector, the major indexes have not confirmed any true direction.  The tecnical are showing more and more bearish divergence, but they could still go up one more time to test the highs from four traiding days ago.

The consolidation continues in this sector, but my outlook is still the same.  The technical indicators are still telling me that this sector is heading lower.

XLF 60 min Chart “Throwback” (June 01, 2009)

This is why technical analysis is so important. The pattern that we were following went to the opposite direction, but the pattern is not confirmed yet. There is still a possibility of a throwback which it will take the price back to the negative direction.
